Funding

Thank you for visiting our funding page. As can be seen throughout our online presence, Nkonzo Wildlife relies on volunteers and program participants to assist our researchers in field operations, data collection, and conservation support. What you may not know is that Nkonzo Wildlife relies heavily on the generous donations provided by our sponsors to stock our field operations making it possible for us to continue our work here on the ground. Our sponsors are outstanding individuals, families, and businesses who wish to support ethical wildlife research and conservation efforts but are not able to join us on site.
If you don’t want to worry about ordering the equipment yourself then bank transfers are also accepted. You can even choose what you wish for your money to go towards. Even if your unable to sponsor a full piece of equipment you can still help and donations as small as $10.00 USD make a massive difference.
Finally, if you have one of our listed items or of a similar model that is lying around please feel free to donate it. Second hand items that still work are our favorites.

Below you can find the items that we currently need the most.
  • Trail Cameras
  • Additional Research Vehicle
  • Handheld GPS
  • Range Finder

Funding our research

Current global situations have impacted international economies, healthcare, education, and infrastructure. The novel situation has also impacted the environmental sector by impeding and halting ongoing efforts to conserve biodiversity. Travel and movement restrictions, restricted funding, and safety concerns have debilitated conservation efforts and research that stands to drastically improve the welfare and sustainability of biodiversity and wildlife.  At Nkonzo Wildlife, our research relies on funding from international volunteers and interns. We implore the international community to band together and support ethical research initiatives like the White Rhinoceros Social Behavior project at Nkonzo Wildlife.
The goal of Nkonzo Wildlife rhinoceros research is to understand the sociality of rhinoceros populations in various habitats. Understanding the role of the environment on behavior is critical in the development of proper wildlife management techniques in high-fenced properties in South Africa.
Data is collected through ethical observational research that observes rhino populations throughout their daily activities and monitors their condition, interactions, and stress levels.  Funding supports vehicle costs such as fuel and maintenance, equipment support such as batteries, printing of data sheets, and tracking equipment.
Please consider supporting our critical research by pledging a once off or monthly donation to continue our rhinoceros research project.
