In collaboration with our esteemed partner, this exclusive conservation program takes place on a breathtaking 15,000-hectare game reserve in Phalaborwa. Encompassing diverse landscapes—from dense riverine forests and rocky outcrops to open plains—the reserve provides a critical habitat for key and endangered species. The dedicated team conducts specialized research on wildlife, including lions, rhinos, elephants, leopards, buffalos, cheetahs, and hyenas. With all animals roaming freely in their natural environment, participants gain a rare opportunity to observe and document their behaviors, movements, interactions, reproduction, and feeding patterns—actively contributing to their conservation and the long-term protection of their habitats.
Field Work
Join a dedicated team of rangers and guides in hands-on conservation work. Actively protect wildlife and ecosystems while gaining in-depth knowledge of the region’s flora and fauna. Your role includes tracking animals, collecting data, clearing invasive plants, and maintaining reserve infrastructure.
Additional activities may include servicing camera traps, bush walks, and assisting in veterinary procedures like darting and collaring. Participate in anti-poaching sleep-outs, camera trap analysis, and species ID kit creation. Daily monitoring drives and microlight flights provide unique perspectives on wildlife and conservation efforts. This immersive experience offers a rare chance to make a real impact.

Requirements
Participants in this program must be at least 18 years old and in good physical and mental health. Much of the work is done on foot, requiring hiking to access work areas while carrying a backpack with lunch, water, snacks, layers, and equipment.
We ask that all participants understand that our work is conducted on wildlife reserves and that schedules may change based on animal locations, accessibility, weather, and other factors.
Lifestyle
Participants enjoy a mix of structured activities and personal downtime during their stay. Free time includes opportunities for group and personal grocery shopping, dining at local restaurants, or relaxing at the camp. Light camp duties such as cleaning and vehicle washing may be required, ensuring a comfortable environment for everyone. For those seeking extra adventures, optional excursions can be arranged to iconic locations like the Kruger National Park and the Panorama Route, including the Blyde River Canyon and other scenic highlights. Guided visits to Kruger allow participants to experience its incredible biodiversity across nearly two million hectares, while the Panorama Route offers breathtaking views, swimming spots, and adrenaline-filled activities like the Big Swing.
